Aspen Dental

I'm not impressed with this establishment. The office seemed kind of 'grungy' to me - could probably use a deep clean. The staff is friendly, but they lack professionalism. My appointment started with 20 minutes of painful x-rays after which I was placed in an exam chair where I waited for half-an-hour for the hygienist to see me. She stated that I had periodontal disease based solely on examining my x-rays. She did not look in my mouth to see that I, in fact, had none of the symptoms. She informed me that I'd need a special, $500 cleaning. I declined and told them I had never been diagnosed with periodontal disease in the past. They would not do a normal cleaning, so I walked out in favor of a getting a second opinion. A few weeks later, I was seen by another dentist in town and they found zero evidence of periodontal disease and said I had some of the cleanest teeth they'd seen after a year without a professional cleaning. Aspen is probably a fine place to get your teeth cleaned if it's affordable for you, but the second they start recommending or requiring services above and beyond the standard, I'd move on. I don't trust them.

I went with my Dad to his appointment and the staff there was very friendly and in high spirits. Andrea up front was very sweet and helpful. Dr. Johnson was great and was even able to get much more than expected done that day! I’m very pleased overall from Darrell to Heather and her neighboring coworker. You all did a great job! They were even short staffed by 3 employees and still had excellent attitudes and customer service.

First time at Aspen location in Johnson City and it was AMAZING! From front desk to folks in passing, everyone was kindly. I was coming from about 30 minutes out and ran into some road blocks/traffic unexpectedly and the desk attendant was helpful and positive upon my near minute of arrival. The team was more than willing to help one another out in taking photos since I was new. I really value the way co-workers tap in to assist one another and took note of their, again, outward positive attitude. Theresa was incredibly great, thorough, and funny. Sad she’ll be retiring but glad she’ll keep up the spirit in new spaces. Overall, the appointment was the highlight of my day! Even told some friends about my trip to the dentist… of all places! A friendly and light environment goes a long way to create an experience. See y’all in 6 months!

I was pleased with the response time it took to get an appointment with Aspen. My grandson had broke a tooth and it was urgent to get him looked at. Other dentists were two months out. Very polite and professional staff. State of the art equipment. The shock came afterwards. I was presented with an estimate of work that needed to be done of over $5000 dollars. And of course it was said that all of it needed to be done soon. He has no dental insurance and he nor his parents have money like this. Credit card offers were offered. This totally added stress on top of my financial situation.

Very annoyed with the dentist being late. That was very unprofessional. My Appointment was at 7am and I arrived at 6:45 am. The dentist arrived an hour late. There’s no excuse to be late and disregard the fact patients have jobs and other responsibilities. They tried to provide a service I wasn’t there for. I wanted a soft alignment they tried to give me an X-ray that wasn’t needed that would have added an extra cost to my dental bill. I’m not paying for what I don’t need. I didn’t get the alignment because the person who do the alignments was booked today and I have to go back. I wasted my time. . I received multiple annoying calls to confirm my appointment that I had already confirmed.

I have consistently gone to aspen dental in Johnson City for years. I always keep my 6 month appts. I recently had a routine appointment in September, and less than one month later I have a black cavity near my gum line. How did that get missed, even with x rays?? Now, I can't get in until January. There is no excuse. I would recommend finding somewhere else to go. I am very disappointed. Also, If this happens to you, I would recommend calling your insurance company. I was given an all clear, no cavities and less than a month later, I have a blackened cavity. That didn't happen overnight. Aspen missed it and billed for services. I'm calling everyone I can think of about this. I just filed a complaint about the Johnson City office to the TN dental board of examiners.

They remembered me. The tech that did my impression s remembered that I am a veteran with PTSD and related anxiety and put me at ease and reassured me through the process. I am so grateful for that. The young lady assisting me with my financial arrangements was thorough and very polite and we went through the process. That is why I have been coming back to them for my dental care for several years. Thank you.
